The "healthiest food" title belongs to watercress, officially. In a CDC study that looked at 17 different nutrient markers (such as potassium, fiber, protein, and calcium) in 41 "powerhouse fruits and vegetables," watercress had the highest "nutrient density" score among them, earning it the title of "healthiest food" in the entire world with a perfect score of 100. However, watercress isn't the only leafy green that has been linked to significant nutritional advantages: Greens in various forms made up the top five foods on the list.
